Applying to the Peace Corps requires persistence, patience and among all other things passion.
I applied under the new application system. After having applied two times, being denied once, and waitlisted - I was finally accepted to the Peace Corps, all within a years time.
Don’t give up on a dream, especially if it’s one you have had for your entire life. Keep going until you achieve it.
October 13, 2014 - I first applied to the Peace Corps
January 21, 2015 - Placed under consideration for an Education position in Nicaragua (leaving August 2015)
March 6, 2015 - After what seemed like a very long, hard wait, I was told that the Peace Corps could not offer me a position in Nicaragua
April 28, 2015 - Applied for the second time to the Peace Corps
May 14, 2015 - Placed under consideration for an Education position in Ecuador
May 19, 2015- Was emailed and asked to set up a time for an interview
June 5, 2015 - Had my interview (online)
June 22, 2015 - Waitlisted
August 12, 2015 - Submitted all of my medical and legal documents
August 25, 2015 - Received Final Medical Clearance
September 30, 2015 - Activated from the waitlist!
